Meet Anita Mbabazi

Anita Mbabazi – Co-Founder, Director, Birthworker, Peer Support Worker & Mental Health Advocate. Anita is a Mother (Mama Tete) and absolutely adores this calling, which further inspires her to support other mamas in their matrescence. As a member of the Red Tent Doula Collective, she also supports on training courses.
Anita’s practice is rooted in East African traditions as she leans into the ancient wisdom of her elders, most particularly her great grandmother who was a medicine woman, to support positive and powerful birth experiences, honouring each mama as the ultimate authority over their body, pregnancy and birth experience.
Anita has worked in mental health for many years from community support to secure units. She has also worked with the manchester city council before becoming a mother, supporting women navigating homelessness and related challenges such as domestic abuse, sexual abuse, substance misuse & addictions, sex work and various mental health conditions.
Anita is also an associate at With-You Consultancy and part of the peer support training team.
