Untold Stories Of The Village

Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, the project will look at the experiences of Women and families, where we learn and share the lost traditions and will highlight cultural practices, through capturing the birth stories and experiences of an intergenerational, cross-cultural group, within the African, Caribbean and South Asian communities, using a creative and artistic outlet.

The beauty about this project is it will be accessible for the next generation and highlight the importance that culture and traditions play on the journey through pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.

As a doula organisation and working closely with women from these communities during these stages, we have identified a need to share these lived experiences with a wider range of stakeholders as an educational tool, which could impact the level of care women receive for generations to come!
